MAKING TEMPLE FUNCTIONS MORE
AFFORDABLE
In recent years, spiraling costs
have made it difficult for some members
to hold Bar or Bat Mitzvah receptions
in our facility. The unique and special
moment of family celebration is enhanced
if the entire experience is held at
the Temple. A kosher meal, (S’udat
Mitzvah) is a sacred meal intrinsically
tied to this joyous celebration and
a very important aspect of the Bar
or Bat Mitzvah. The facilities committee is working to find ways to
minimize costs and to provide all
members with the opportunity to hold
their celebration at Temple Beth Emunah.
We have several caterers and accomodators who have done functions in our building. The Temple office would be happy to provide you with a list.
The committee recently completed
a study of comparative rental rates.
Rental rates are necessary because
of the cost of custodial service and
utilities. Currently, Temple Beth
Emunah’s rental rates are the lowest
of the ten congregations surveyed.
After analyzing costs, it was determined
that current rates can be maintained
for members. Non-member rates have
increased and are consistent with
those charged by area congregations.
The next phase of the committee’s
work is to develop a marketing plan
to encourage non-member use of our
beautiful facility. Increased non-member
use of our function halls would generate
more revenue for the Temple.
In addition, the committee is gathering
information to create a guide for
members and non-members to use as
a resource for function planning.
Efforts are being made to encourage
vendors to offer reasonable rates
to Temple members.
