FROM THE SISTERHOOD

Upcoming Sisterhood Events:
Sisterhood New Member Dinner - Tuesday Dec 8th 7pm
Sisterhood Board Meeting - Monday Dec 21st 7:30pm

Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end – Semisonic
Six years ago was a personal new beginning for me as I accepted the position of President of Temple Beth Emunah Sisterhood. This year it is bittersweet as I announce my beginning coming to an end and a new beginning for the Sisterhood as Sharon Wolf will be assuming the position of President for the upcoming term. Over the past six years I have had the honor and privilege to serve the women of the Sisterhood. I thank you all for your support and friendship. I have gotten to know and love you all as you have helped me to grow and mature into the leader you needed. I am confident as the leadership of the Sisterhood goes through change that we will continue to grow and strengthen. Sharon and I have had several conversations and I look forward to the new ideas and creative approach she will bring to the board. I know you will all give her the same support and respect that was given to me. Together we can make things work.

The year is closing with two remaining events. We have our Torah Fund dinner on Monday night June 8, 2009. I wish to thank all of our Torah Fund supporters for their contribution to this year’s campaign. To learn more about Torah Fund and how you can become a benefactor please contact our Torah Fund chairs or Special Gift Chair – Cele Lubin, Selma Kracoff or Linda Werb.

My thanks goes out to Marilyn Geller and Beverly Strumpf for all the hard work they have put in to chair the 25th Anniversary service for our Adult B’nai Mitzvah program. Please join the Sisterhood and all of our graduates over the past 25 years who have participated our classes at a special service in their honor on Friday night June 12,2009. Members of the classes will be participating in the service.

Our Donor Dinner in May was a great success. Thank you to everyone who came and helped out in anyway during the planning or preparations for this great dinner. The evening was a success. It is never too late to make your yearly donation. If you have not had the chance to do so, please forward your check to the Temple office.

It has been my pleasure serving you as President of TBE Sisterhood. I will continue to serve in other capacities locally as well as move to a new position as Regional Administrative Secretary for North Atlantic Region Women’s League for Conservative Judaism.

Lisa Riseman
Immediate past President
